MOORE Henry

(1898 – 1936)

British painter and sculptor.

He revolutionized modern sculpture, he was inspired by Mayan and Mesoamerican art. In 1920, he discovered Brancusi who would pave the way for modernism. His works remained in figurative form. He became interested in the concept of biomorphism. Today, Henri Moore is the second most expensive British artist on the art market after Sir Francis Bacon. He is exhibited in the greatest museums of modern art.
