French painter of Russian origin.
He synthesized the 20th century’s history of painting. He was inspired by Braque, Cézanne, Picasso in order to end up with an abstract art which remains anchored in reality with a strong cubist vision. He opened a new pictorial path that his elders missed. He was very famous in the 50s. He is exhibited in the greatest museums of the world.
