(1921 – 1998)

French painter-sculptor. Independent and informal self-taught: he studied the modern world, the consumable, which he shaped & compressed.

Known for using industrial tools, he worked with all materials. He is part of the school of new realism. He is known for his thumb cuts and his Caesar sculpture offered every year at the César Awards ceremony.
